FAQ – Mounting Audio-Video Items on Common Walls

All units within the Promenade Villas Complex share some walls that are shared with other units.  The designers of the complex we careful to design significant sound isolation characteristics so that activities in one unit will not or minimally affect neighboring units.  Unfortunately, all the sound isolation characteristics are bypassed when sound producing equipment (televisions, stereos etc.) are mounted directly on the wall.

Here are some tips to help minimize the impact on your neighbors:

  • The obvious best option is to not mount these items on common walls. Instead, choose walls that face outside or interior spaces within your unit.
  • Use entertainment center furniture that can support your electronics without touching the wall.
  • Separate speakers from the display using floor stands so that the speakers do not actually touch the walls.

These are some simple ideas that make your entertainment center ‘neighbor friendly’.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at PromenadeVillasHOA@gmail.com
